nature: UNMAde

In an exploration of how the nature and naturalized is put against humanity, technology and reason, nature UNMAde brings a theoretical approach to the question. A trip to Werdersee in Bremen has shown the disconnect between the large fields and the body of water, the animals living there, and those – humans – living right beside all of it, with their own small gardens with plant pots and own bushes. Humanity in contrast to the natural despite clinging onto it, to own it.
The work, presented as an informal, deconstructed essay, is simultaneously a theory as well as a design project. It isn’t meant to be taken at face value but constantly questioned while reading.
Some of the main topics included are gender, misogyny, industrialism, genetics, culture.
With original pictures from Werdersee, the complete work makes references to several theorists, books, and utilizes other wildlife and scenery photography by distorting them into looking less natural.
